A new milestone has been reached in the CBD and South East Light Rail project with the start of night-time tram testing along the Kensington and Kingsford branch – the final section of the route.
As this progresses into daytime testing in the coming weeks, the community, and in particular students from UNSW, will start to see trams running along Anzac Parade.
Pedestrians are reminded to ditch the distraction, keep their heads up and always look both ways before crossing the roads.
Tram testing and driver training will continue on the Kingsford line up until the start of services in March 2020. It’s important for pedestrians and road users to stay alert, be aware of changing traffic conditions and always follow traffic signals and signs.
The “Heads Up. Play it Safe around Light Rail” safety campaign continues to educate road users about moving safely around the new trams.
