NorthConnex, Sydney's newest motorway, is now open to traffic.
The first cars entered the northbound tunnel at 3am on Saturday 31 October, with the southbound tunnel open at 3:41am.
There are electronic message signs and updated road signs in place on approach to the NorthConnex entries and exits to advise motorists of the new traffic conditions.
Motorists are encouraged to visit northconnex.com.au and view the Driver Experience videos which were developed to show the key decision points on approach and exits to the tunnel to ensure a safe and smooth journey.
Benefits include travel time savings of up to 15 minutes between the M1 and M2 and bypassing 21 sets of traffic lights along Pennant Hills Road.
