Sydney Light Rail customers are urged to plan ahead for a brief partial shutdown of the L2 and L3 lines during vital maintenance work scheduled for the end of September.
Services will stop between Central Chalmers Street and the Randwick and Kingsford Juniors stops for two consecutive days from 2am Saturday 26 September to 2am Monday 28 September.
Light rail services will continue to run between Circular Quay and Central, with replacement buses operating to help customers continue their journey towards Randwick and Kingsford Juniors.
Replacement buses will run daily in both directions as follows:
- Every 10-15 minutes, from 5am to 7am.
- Every 6-10 minutes, from 7am to 7pm.
- Every 10-15 minutes, from 7pm to 1am.
Light rail services between Circular Quay and Central Chalmers Street will run at a temporary changed frequency of every 8 minutes in both directions throughout the whole weekend.
Customer service staff will be on hand at light rail stops and bus marshalling areas to help customers negotiate the temporary change to their trip.
The short partial shutdown will allow technicians to carry out works necessary for maintaining the light rail network including scheduled repair work and the installation of fibre optic cables in the Moore Park Light Rail tunnel.
Services will return to normal on the Monday morning.
