Six months after launching, B-Line has notched up 2.7 million passenger trips and become a public transport staple for Northern Beaches locals and visitors.

Customers have embraced the service, which comprises 38 yellow and blue double-deck buses that travel between Mona Vale and Wynyard seven days a week, providing a reliable, efficient and fast transport option.

While the new buses make up just 10 per cent of the bus fleet on the Northern Beaches, they are carrying more than 26 per cent of customers, a testament to the popularity of the big yellow buses.

B-Line runs every five minutes during peak times in the peak direction and every 10 minutes at other times of the day, easing the busy workday commute and making it easier for people traveling between peaks or at night.

There has been a 4.6 per cent increase from last year of people using buses on the B-Line corridor, and 10 per cent more people are now travelling to the city in the evening peak between 3pm and 8pm.

The State Transit operated service, which launched last November, runs between 4.30am and 1.30am every day.
