Trackwork targeting Sydney's west and north this weekend

Passengers in Sydney’s west and north are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 18-19 November, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork powers ahead.

Buses will replace trains between Penrith, Richmond and Granville on the T1 Western, T5 Cumberland and Blue Mountains lines.

From 10pm Friday through the weekend, buses will replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction on the T4 Eastern Suburbs Line.

From 7.30pm Saturday to 4.40am Sunday, buses will replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby on the T1 North Shore Line and between Wyong and Hornsby on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line.

Sydney Trains will have more than 800 workers undertaking a significant amount of work to remove around 40 high-priority defects.

Passengers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Intercity Services

On the South Coast Line, on Saturday between 3am and 11am, buses will replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong, and between Dapto and Waterfall. On Sunday from 2.30am to 9.50am, buses will replace trains between Bomaderry, Kiama and Wollongong.

On the Southern Highlands Line, between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, buses will replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.

Special event - Newcastle Williamtown Air Show

On Saturday, additional services have been provided from Newcastle to Telarah on the Hunter Line and between Newcastle and Wyong, with increased capacity also provided on the Central Coast Line for commuters travelling to the Newcastle foreshore.
