Weekend Rail Repair Plan Trackwork - 16 - 17 March

Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 16-17 March, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork continues to build a more resilient and reliable network. 

Across the weekend, buses will replace trains on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line between Cronulla and Sutherland as part of Sydney Trains project work. On Saturday only, buses will also replace trains from 11.30pm to 2.20am, between Waterfall, Cronulla and Hurstville. 

The T1 Western Line will see buses replace trains between Emu Plains and Blacktown for Rail Repair Plan trackwork on both Saturday and Sunday. 

For those travelling to Sydney Olympic Park for the P!NK concert on Saturday 16 March, express train services run between Central, Blacktown, Schofields and Olympic Park. More information can be found here

On Sunday, buses will replace trains between North Sydney and Wynyard on the T1 North Shore Line to allow for essential track maintenance. 

Sydney Trains will have around 850 workers undertaking a significant amount of work to remove 12 high-priority defects over this period. 

Some trains may run to changed stopping pattern and timetable. Passengers may need to change trains and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Intercity 
Across the weekend, buses will replace trains between Bathurst and Blacktown on the Blue Mountains Line.  

And the South Coast Line will see buses replace trains on Saturday from 11.30pm to 2.20am, between Waterfall and Hurstville. 

Metro 
On both Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace Metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood on the Metro North West Line due to planned trackwork and testing for the upcoming metro extension into the Sydney CBD.
