Weekend Rail Repair Plan Trackwork - 20-21 January

Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 20-21 January, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork targets key sections of the network to improve resilience and reliability.

Buses will replace trains on the T1 North Shore Line between Hornsby and Wynyard on both Saturday and Sunday.

On the T2 Inner West & Leppington and T5 Cumberland lines, buses will replace trains on Saturday morning from 6.10am to 10.30am between Cabramatta and Granville. On Sunday from 6.30am and 10.30am buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central.

On the T3 Bankstown Line, buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham on both Saturday and Sunday.

Trackwork continues on parts of the T3 Bankstown Line until 25 January.

On Saturday and Sunday trains will only run in one direction on the City Circle from Central with the first stop being Museum. Passengers are reminded that the light rail runs in both directions between Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall and Central should they wish to use that as an alternative.

Sydney Trains will have around 848 workers undertaking a significant amount of work to remove around 18 high-priority defects.

Some trains may run to changed stopping pattern and timetable. Passengers may need to change trains and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transport.info or using trip planning apps.

Sydney Trains thanks our passengers for their patience as we work to build a more resilient and reliable network.
