Weekend Rail Repair Trackwork - 2-3 March

Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 2-3 March, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork continues to build a more resilient and reliable network.

On the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line, buses will replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, from 11.30pm to 2.20am, buses will also replace trains between Waterfall, Cronulla and Hurstville.

The T7 Olympic Park Line will see buses replace trains on Sunday between Olympic Park and Lidcombe.

For those attending Mardi Gras celebrations on Saturday 2 March, trackwork will not impact services through Central Station or the CBD however a reminder to plan ahead for your suburban line travel.

Sydney Trains will have around 894 workers undertaking a significant amount of work including replacing sections of rail, removal and replacement of ballast and replacing where the mechanism which allows trains to change from one track to another.

Some trains may run to changed stopping pattern and timetable. Passengers may need to change trains and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Intercity

On the South Coast Line, buses will replace trains between Waterfall and Hurstville on Saturday from 11.30pm to 2am.

Metro

On both Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood on the Metro North West Line due to planned trackwork and testing for the upcoming metro extension into the Sydney CBD.
