Changed traffic conditions at North Sydney for Warringah Freeway works

Motorists travelling on the Warringah Freeway this weekend should plan ahead and allow extra travel time with some detours in place from Friday night (2 February).

Traffic changes are planned from 10pm Friday 2 February to 4.30am Monday 5 February 2024 to allow for vital construction and widening works.

Multiple closures and related detours will be in place. These changes are necessary to enable widening of the freeway, construction of the new Mount Street underpass, and construction of the new southbound bus lane from Falcon Street to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Continuous closure from 10pm Friday to 4.30am Monday will be in place for:

  • Left-turn access from Mount Street to Alfred Street North
  • Berry Street northbound on ramp to Warringah Freeway. Alternative access via Falcon Street on-ramp (tolled) or Pacific Highway (untolled).

Traffic changes also include night closures of:

  • Warringah Freeway southbound outer lanes between Mount Street and High Street. Access maintained to Sydney CBD via freeway inner lanes.
