Rail Repair Plan trackwork tackles City Circle and Airport Line

Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 25-26 November, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork focuses on Sydney’s City Circle and the Airport Line, for a more reliable and resilient network.

On Saturday and Sunday, trains will not run to Museum, St James or Circular Quay. Passengers are advised to use the light rail between Central and Circular Quay, or the multiple nearby bus routes available.

Passengers traveling to the airport this weekend are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time and plan their trip, as buses replace trains from 11.50pm Friday throughout the weekend on the T8 line between Glenfield, Sydenham and Central via the Airport.

Express rail replacement buses will run between Central and the International Airport, and Central and the Domestic Airport in both directions. Airport passengers can also catch replacement buses to the Airport stations from Sydenham, Wolli Creek, Mascot, and Green Square.

On Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains on the T2 and T5 between Leppington and Glenfield. On Sunday, buses will also replace trains on the T2 Inner West Line between Central and Strathfield, the T1 and T5 between Richmond and Blacktown from 5.50am to 8.45am, and then between Richmond and Schofields from 8.45am to 11am.

Sydney Trains will have around 700 workers undertaking a significant amount of work to remove around 40 high-priority defects.

Some trains may run to changed stopping patterns. Passengers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Sydney Trains thanks our passengers for their patience as we work to build a more resilient and reliable network.
