Weekend Rail Repair Plan Trackwork - 6-7 April

Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 6-7 April, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork continues to build a more resilient and reliable network.

Across the weekend, buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Strathfield on the T1 Western and T2 Inner West & Leppington Lines for project and maintenance works.

Sydney Trains will have around 750 workers undertaking a significant amount of work over this period including the Tuggerah station access upgrade, overhead wire upgrades, turnout refurbishments, drainage upgrades, track reconditioning, platform resurfacing, and track circuit renewals, as well as removing 11 high-priority defects.

Some trains may run to changed stopping pattern and timetable. Passengers may need to change trains and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Sydney Trains thanks our passengers for their patience as we work to build a more resilient and reliable network.

Intercity

Across the weekend on the Blue Mountains Line, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change at Penrith for express buses to Strathfield.

On the Central Coast & Newcastle Line, buses replace trains between Wyong and Gosford all weekend.

On both Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace Metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood on the Metro North West Line due to planned trackwork and testing for the upcoming metro extension into the Sydney CBD.
