Get ready for M7 works at Light Horse Interchange
Work to widen the M7 Motorway at Eastern Creek on the approaches to the Light Horse Interchange as part of the M7-M12 Integration project is about to get underway and expected to continue through to 2026.
The upgrade will see an additional north and south bound lane added to the M7 Motorway between the M5, Prestons and Richmond Road, Glendenning/Oakhurst to reduce congestion and improve travel times along the motorway.
To enable the work, a number of red markers that form part of the Australian Light Horse Sculpture Parade located at the interchange with the M4 Motorway and Wallgrove Road will need to be temporarily removed and safely stored.
Temporary removal of the red markers has been planned in consultation with Veteran Groups
Where possible, work will be scheduled at nighttime to minimise disruption to motorists.
The sculpture poles will be returned to the sculpture upon completion.
Due to the upgrade, the M7 Motorway median will be narrowed, and every attempt will be made to return the sculpture poles to as close to their original position as possible.
The work will entail some tree removal before the area is landscaped on completion of work in 2026.
