Ferry services returning to Greenwich Point Wharf

Ferry services from Greenwich Point Wharf, including the F8 ferry and Captain Cook Cruise services, will resume from Friday 13 December as important wharf upgrades are completed.

The Greenwich Point Wharf upgrade is part of the Safe Accessible Transport program to make public transport safe, inclusive and easy to use for all passengers, especially people with disability, older people, people with prams or luggage and people with limited mobility.

Most of the new and upgraded accessibility features are complete and will be available to ferry passengers and other wharf users, including:

  • jetty and covered pontoon
  • gangway connecting to the jetty
  • covered waiting area, passenger seating and weather protection
  • bicycle hoops
  • lighting and security.

While construction activities will be complete in December, the new lift will not open until early 2025 when power is connected.

Transport is working closely with Ausgrid to facilitate the transfer of power from the old to the upgraded infrastructure, as quickly as possible.

For those with accessibility needs, the existing ramp to the wharf via Lower Serpentine Road, will be reopened and available to the public when ferry services resume on Friday 13 December.
