Festive buses spreading Christmas cheer
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Sydney’s hard working bus drivers are going that extra mile to spread Christmas cheer to their passengers.
As many people have already noticed, decorated buses have begun hitting the road.
Drivers and depot staff across Greater Sydney have been hard at work adorning dozens of buses with showstopping decorations.
Howard Collins, Coordinator General at Transport for NSW, says the Christmas buses have become a huge hit among passengers.
“This is such a special time of year and we are thrilled to once again see our bus drivers and depot staff getting into the festive spirit,” Mr Collins said.
“The operators, their staff and drivers at the depots have put so much effort and pride into decorating their buses, with some drivers even dressing up as well.
“Seeing the joy on the faces of commuters when a bus rolls in covered in decorations is heart-warming and we are thrilled they will be spreading Christmas cheer across Sydney this holiday season.”
This year, passengers will be able to ensure they can enjoy a ride on a decorated bus when using trip planner apps.
“Each Christmas bus will be identified by a Christmas tree icon on the timetable, making it easy for people to jingle all the way to their destination,” Mr Collins said.
Once again, Transport for NSW will be holding a Christmas bus decoration competition, partnering with the Sydney Children’s Hospital. All Greater Sydney bus operators have been invited to bring a festive bus to Brookvale depot for the judging at 10am on Wednesday 20 December.
