Rail Repair Plan trackwork between Sydenham and Bondi - 29-30 July

Passengers on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line and T3 Bankstown Line should plan ahead and allow extra travel time as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork takes place this weekend (29-30 July).

Sydney Trains will have around 600 workers and approximately 20km of track closures, with a significant amount of work set to be undertaken including the removal of more than 40 high-priority defects.

From 2am Saturday to 2am Monday, buses replace trains between Sydenham and Bondi Junction on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line.

Passengers travelling between T4 Illawarra Line stations and the city should change trains at Wolli Creek to continue their journey. Extra T8 Airport Line trains will run between Wolli Creek and the City Circle to provide support.

On Sunday from 4am to 10am, buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland, and between Hurstville and Central. Trains run between Cronulla and Hurstville only and run to a slightly altered timetable.

On the T3 Bankstown line, buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central all weekend.

On the T2 Inner West & Leppington and the T5 Cumberland Lines, replacement buses will run between Cabramatta and Granville on Saturday from 6:30am for four hours.

People should allow extra travel time, plan ahead using transportnsw.info or the travel apps and pay attention to station announcements.

We are working hard to minimise the impact by completing work outside peak periods. Sydney Trains thanks passengers for their patience as we work to build a more resilient and reliable network.
