Rail Repair Plan trackwork moves south
Essential Rail Repair trackwork will see closures from Central to Dapto on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast Lines this weekend.
Sydney Trains will have 865 workers removing 18 high-priority defects, completing electrical inspections and repairing 42km of track on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October.
Buses will replace trains from Central to Cronulla and Waterfall on the T4 Illawarra Line and to Dapto and Port Kembla on the South Coast Line.
Trains will continue to run between Bondi Junction and Central, and between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto. Some T4 replacement buses will start and end at Redfern or Sydenham.
The trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast Lines will also affect how some passengers travel on the T8 Airport & South Line.
Passengers travelling to the T4 Illawarra stations of Tempe, Arncliffe, Banksia, Rockdale, Kogarah, Carlton or Allawah will need to change at Wolli Creek for a bus. For all other T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra or South Coast Line stations, passengers will need to change at Central.
Music fans heading to the KISS concert at Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday evening can take special event trains, which are included in the cost of their tickets.
From 9.30pm Saturday to 2am Sunday, buses will replace trains between Bankstown and Central on the T3 Bankstown Line so passengers are advised to allow for extra travel time. Trains will continue to run between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Bankstown, some to a changed timetable.

Metro Works
Due to maintenance work on the metro, Metro North West services will not be operating all weekend, with buses replacing trains between Tallawong and Chatswood. Passengers can also opt for T1 North Shore and T9 Northern Lines trains.
Trackwork Next Week
Nightly from 9.45pm to 1.30am Monday 9 to Thursday 12 October, buses will replace trains between Hornsby and Central. Trains will run between Berowra and Central.
On the T4 Illawarra Line, nightly from 10.50pm to 2.40am Monday 9 to Thursday 12 October, buses will replace trains between Sutherland and Hurstville. Trains will run to a changed timetable between Waterfall or Cronulla and Sutherland, and between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
