Upcoming works across Sydney’s road network

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge from tonight (7 July) and in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel from tomorrow (8 July) night for maintenance and Warringah Freeway Upgrade works.

Warringah Freeway Upgrade

Changed traffic conditions at the intersection of Mount Street and Alfred Street North in North Sydney will take place over the next two weekends as work on the Warringah Freeway Upgrade progresses.

The first weekend of changed traffic conditions will occur between 8pm this Friday, 7 July and 4.30am on Monday, 10 July for 56 hours of continuous work.

The northbound lane of Alfred Street North will be temporarily closed to accommodate excavation works at the intersection.

The work is required to install services and relocate utilities which would otherwise be affected by the construction of the future Mount Street Underpass.

Motorists planning to travel northbound on Alfred Street North will need to detour via Alfred Street North southbound, High Street and Ben Boyd Road. There is no impact to the access to or from the Warringah Freeway.

The second weekend of 56 hours of continuous work is planned to take place between 9pm on Friday, 14 July and 5am on Monday, 17 July, and additional work will likely be required in August and September.

These dates may change depending on weather conditions.
