T3 Bankstown Line Upgrade Work - April 2024

T3 Bankstown Line passengers are urged to plan ahead with buses replacing trains between some stations from Saturday 13 to Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Frequent bus services will replace trains throughout this vital trackwork period, with additional buses running at peak times. Train replacement bus services are Opal or contactless payment enabled. You must tap on when boarding a replacement bus and tap off when arriving at your stop.

If you are travelling to the City or towards Bankstown, you may have more transport options in and around your local train station. Choose what’s the best option for you to make your journey more comfortable.

Visit transportnsw.info for a detailed list of replacement and alternative services, or download the flyer.

What is happening?

Conversion of the T3 Bankstown line to Metro will address one of Sydney’s biggest rail bottlenecks, providing more reliable journeys across Sydney, as well as increasing accessibility.

Once Sydney Metro City & Southwest is complete, Sydney will have five new stations, new underground platforms at Martin Place and Central stations, and 11 upgraded stations. When complete, a Metro train will run every four minutes along the new line.
