What is happening?

 

Conversion of the T3 Bankstown line to Metro will address one of Sydney’s biggest rail bottlenecks, providing more reliable journeys across Sydney, as well as increasing accessibility.

Once Sydney Metro City & Southwest is complete, Sydney will have five new stations, new underground platforms at Martin Place and Central stations, and 11 upgraded stations. When complete, a Metro train will run every four minutes along the new line.

Information for commuters

 

Buses will replace trains between Sydenham to Bankstown between:

  • Saturday 23 September to Thursday 5 October 2023
  • Wednesday 27 December 2023 to Thursday 25 January 2024
