Travel into the city for Vivid Sydney will not be heavily impacted by trackwork, with an additional 400 train services on offer over the duration of the event.

Elsewhere, buses will replace trains due to planned trackwork on key sections of the T3 Bankstown Line, T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line and T8 Airport & South Line, as well as intercity services on the South Coast Line.

Across the weekend, buses will replace Sydney Metro train services between Tallawong and Chatswood, due to testing for the upcoming Metro extension into the Sydney CBD.

Light Rail

Tonight (Friday 14 June) from 6pm to 1am and on Saturday 15 June from 5pm to 1am, L2 and L3 light rail services will not run between Town Hall and Circular Quay due to Vivid. Buses will also divert while roads are closed.

Light Rail services will continue to run between Town Hall and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford during these times. Passengers travelling to Circular Quay should continue on foot from Town Hall or change for trains.

Due to ongoing industrial action all L1 Dulwich Hill Line, L2 Randwick Line and L3 Kingsford Line light rail services will run at a reduced frequency daily until further notice. Use the Trip Planner for alternative transport options or find more information here.

Events

Vivid Sydney continues with large crowds expected for its last two nights on Friday 14 June and Saturday 15 June, especially when the festival hosts the popular drone show on Saturday night.

Detailed information on affected lines and alternative travel options are available in our trackwork alert here.

Passengers should allow plenty of extra travel time and check specific journey information by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.
