Works across Sydney’s road and transport network from 5 April

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Harbour Tunnel for maintenance and project works.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Up to 5 lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge deck will close for maintenance and upgrade works from tonight:

  • Friday 5 April: 11pm – 4:30am
  • Saturday 6 April: 11:30pm - 6am
  • Sunday 7 April: 11pm – 4:30am
  • Monday 8 April: 10pm – 4:30am
  • Tuesday 9 April: 10pm – 4:30am
  • Wednesday 10 April: 10pm – 4:30am
  • Thursday 11 April: 10:30pm – 4:30am

Motorists can use other lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge or drive through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel as an alternative route during these times.

Both southbound lanes of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel will close from 10pm to 6am on Friday 5 April. On Thursday 11 April, one southbound lane will close from 10pm to 4:30am for maintenance.

Motorists can use the other available lanes or drive over the Sydney Harbour Bridge during these times.

Changed traffic conditions on Western Distributor

From Sunday 7 April to Wednesday 10 April, lane closures will be in place on the Western Distributor for night works. The work will be carried out between 9pm and 5am, with detours in place for motorists.

  • Sunday 7 April: all westbound lanes closed between Darling Harbour and Anzac Bridge
  • Monday 8 April: all eastbound lanes closed between Darling Harbour and Anzac Bridge
  • Wednesday 10 April: closure of Pyrmont Bridge Road on-ramp and Bank Street on-ramp, eastbound towards Anzac Bridge

Changed traffic conditions in WestConnex tunnels

On Sunday 7 April, all WestConnex tunnels: M4 East, M8, M4-M8 Link and Rozelle Interchange will close in both directions, for tunnel control system testing from 12:30am to 7:30am.

Motorists are urged to plan their journey and visit livetraffic.com for the latest traffic conditions.

Essential trackwork

Passengers using the T1 and T2 lines need to plan ahead this weekend as essential trackwork targets key sections of the network to improve resilience and reliability.

As part of the Sydney Metro City and Southwest project, rail upgrade work will take place between Sydenham and Bankstown from Saturday 13 April to Wednesday 24 April. During this time, buses will replace trains on the T3 Bankstown line, with additional buses at peak times. More information on replacement and alternative services can be found here.

Changed traffic conditions on Victoria Road, Drummoyne and Rozelle

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on Victoria Road from Wellington Street, Rozelle to Park Avenue, Drummoyne.

‘In Pavement Lights’ will be installed between 8pm and 5am until Monday 6 May. No work will be performed on Friday and Saturday nights.
