Public Transport your ticket to Ten Thousand Suns celebrations

Public transport is the way to go for the Biennale of Sydney exhibition, held from 9 March to 10 June 2024 across six iconic locations, including the heritage-listed White Bay Power Station.

Other venues include Art Gallery of New South Wales, Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Chau Chak Wing Museum at the University of Sydney, UNSW Galleries and Artspace.

Transport for NSW Coordinator-General, Howard Collins, said the three-month long festival will see dedicated and frequent regular route buses run from Sydney’s CBD to Rozelle.

“Additional route 443 special event buses will be operating between QVB and the venue on the days Biennale is on,” Mr Collins said.

“The pick-up point for Route 443 will be at Stand B at the QVB, and it will drop off at the White Bay Power Station. For the return journey, the buses will leave from the event site and drop off at QVB Stand F.

“Regular route buses, including the 441 and 442, also run frequently to Rozelle on weekdays and weekends, stopping within short walking distance of White Bay Power Station.

“Otherwise hop on one of the F3 or F4 ferry services to Balmain East Wharf or Birchgrove where you can connect with the 442 bus to the power station.

“Frequent trains run to Town Hall station every day where passengers can connect to buses to complete their journey.

While remediation works continue at Rozelle Parklands, Transport for NSW intends to open some shared pathways as soon as possible to help connect the light rail stop at Rozelle Bay with the Biennale as was always intended.
