Changed traffic conditions in North Sydney from Friday 17 November

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Warringah Freeway this weekend from 17 November.

Traffic changes will be in effect from 10pm Friday 17 November to 4:30am Monday 20 November.  Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow for extra travel time.

Warringah Freeway Upgrade work this weekend will include demolishing a section of the Mount Street bridge and installing new utility pits at Mount Street and Alfred Street North.

Traffic changes will include: 

  • No left turn access northbound from Mount Street to Alfred Street North from Friday 10pm to Saturday 6pm
  • High Street southbound on ramp to Cahill Expressway closure from Friday 11:30pm to Saturday 6am, Saturday 11:30pm to Sunday 7am, Sunday 10pm to Monday 4:30am
  • Mount Street eastern southbound on-ramp closure from Friday 11:30pm to Saturday 6am, Saturday 11:30pm to Sunday 7am, Sunday 10pm to Monday 4:30am
  • Warringah Freeway southbound lane 6 and Cahill Expressway closure from Friday 11pm to Saturday 5am.

From Mount Street, motorists can use a detour to access Alfred Street North via High Street, Clark Road and Ben Boyd Road. Motorists can access the Sydney Harbour Bridge via the Mount Street western on-ramp.

Motorists can access the Eastern Distributor during night work hours via the Sydney Harbour Tunnel or Grosvenor Street, Bridge Street and Macquarie Street.
