Warringah Freeway Upgrade: Changed traffic conditions from Friday 25 Oct
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Warringah Freeway this weekend. Multiple temporary lane and ramp closures will be in place from 10pm Friday 25 October to 4.30am Monday 28 October.
Traffic changes include:
• Ernest Street northbound off ramp closed continuously from 10pm Friday 25 October to 4.30am Monday 28 October. Detour via the Pacific Highway.
• Ernest Street southbound on ramp closed continuously from 10pm Friday 25 October to 4.30am Monday 28 October. Use the Falcon Street southbound on ramp.
• From 11.30pm Saturday 26 October to 8am Sunday 27 October, there will be no northbound access to the Falcon Street off ramp or the Miller Street off ramp from the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Motorists travelling to North Sydney, Mosman, Manly and Crows Nest must exit at the Pacific Highway and turn right at Miller Street. Motorists heading to the Gore Hill Freeway/Lane Cove Tunnel and the M1 should use lane 4 on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The Miller Street southbound on ramp is closed from 10am to 6pm weekdays. This is a long-term temporary closure now in place, continuing until mid-December 2024. Motorists are advised to use either the Ernest Street or the Falcon Street on ramps.
We are also closing the Sydney Harbour Tunnel:
• Southbound from 11.30pm Friday 25 October to 6am Saturday 26 October
• Northbound on Sunday 27 October from 12.30am to 8am
• Southbound from 10pm Tuesday 29 October to 5am Wednesday 30 October
• Southbound from 10pm Wednesday 30 October to 5am Thursday 31 October
The Sydney Harbour Bridge will remain open at all times. However, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is NOT open to Restricted Access Vehicles (RAV). Operators of Class 1, 2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternative route. Vehicles travelling under a Permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the NHVR.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra travel time. Please slow down and follow the directional signage in place over the weekend. Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
